Who is BinkiBear LLC?
Jacquelyn (Jackie) Raimondi is the president and creator of BinkiBear, and a young stay at home mother of two little boys, ages 5 and 7. She works from home with her children. She is the typical "mompreneur"! The Raimondi family is an Air Force family currently in San Antonio, TX.
BinkiBear, LLC was incorporated in 2009 after Mrs. Raimondi began making the BinkiBear while in Korea in 2006. The first design was meant only for her own son, but as other began to notice the bear and all the benefits of combining the comfort of a classic teddy bear with the soothing relief of the pacifier, the BinkiBear business idea was born. For several years the Pacibear, as it was called in 2006, was a popular gift item for the Yongsan Army Garrison mommy community. The name was later changed to BinkiBear, and the business of selling the BinkiBear began to grow. Although Jackie never considered herself an entrepreneur, she had always been an innovative mind. She earned a degree in Psychology and a minor in Music and Dance. Her right and left brain talents merged in the designing of BinkiBear!
Before sharing BinkiBear with the world, Jackie spent time back in her psychology books studying again the processes of child development in self-soothing, specifically focusing on the role pacifiers and transitional objects (teddy bears and blankies) play in the development of self-soothing techniques and the impact of that development on the child going forward. She also spent time focusing on the safety aspects of pacifier and teddy bears.
Now BinkiBear is a family business and growing in popularity worldwide. With Jackie mostly running the business, her husband Ken Raimondi supports her effort and contributes greatly in the marketing. Her father, Mike Clark, a business expert and professor of business, is the COO. Taking the traditions of family business in hand, they are experiencing the joys and challenges associated with blending work into family life. The benefits are numerous! Jackie continues in music and dance, leading praise and worship, and Ken is able to continue to pursue his passion of documentaries and film making. These are the kind of extra ventures that become hard outside of the flexibility of a family business, and the members of BinkiBear take full advantage of the opportunity!
